ARTH 444 - Islamic Art in Global Context II: Early Modern3 Credit Hours This course surveys the development of Islamic art and material culture during a critical period of change in the Islamic lands, the western Mediterranean, and the wider world from 1400 to 1800. It explores artistic, economic, and intellectual interchange between the Christian and Islamic lands from the European Renaissance up to the dominance of colonial and imperial powers.
