Business Administration Exploratory Program

The Haslam College of Business Exploratory program is designed for students who are deciding among one or more majors in the College. It allows students to explore major options as well as make progress toward graduation through the completion of general education courses. Exploratory students are required to meet with their advisor every semester.

All full-time, degree-seeking students who first entered Fall 2013 or later must transition out of the exploratory track into a major no later than the end of the fourth tracking semester. Transfer students admitted as exploratory students must transition out of the exploratory track into a major no later than the end of their second tracking semester.

  1. Must be completed by the end of the First Year.
  2. Chosen from the Volunteer Core  list.
  3. Students who have already completed MATH 132 * with a C or better may substitute that for MATH 141 *.
  4. Any courses not already required for the major.
  5. First-semester freshmen should take BUAD 100 ; transfer students should take BUAD 210 .
  6. Students who intend to major in or do a collateral in either Accounting or Finance should take ACCT 203  or ACCT 208 .
  7. At least three hours from courses among the Volunteer Core  Applied Arts and Humanities , Arts and Humanities , Global Citizenship – International , Global Citizenship – US , or Social Sciences  lists.
