Homeland Security Nursing Graduate Certificate

The College of Nursing offers certificates for nurses who need additional training. A master’s degree in nursing is required for admission.
The total hours will vary depending on the student’s academic record, clinical experience, and objectives. Students must complete a minimum of 12 hours. Most students complete 16-20 hours of course credit with the exception of those pursuing certificates in homeland security, nurse anesthesia, or women and children: neonatal, where additional hours are required. The nurse anesthesia certificate program requires students who have completed the master’s degree in nursing within the preceding five years to complete 60-70 hours of course credit. Course requirements are NURS 532 , NURS 533 , NURS 535 , NURS 536 , NURS 537 , NURS 592 , epidemiology, one related elective, plus additional hours as determined by the college.
