LAW 950 - Community Economic Development Clinic


The Community Economic Development Clinic will teach students transactional skills through the representation of nonprofit organizations, community-based associations, small businesses, and artists. The clinic consists primarily of supervised fieldwork where students assume primary responsibility for representing clients with various non-litigation matters, including interacting with local, state, and federal agencies; engaging in statutory interpretation; conducting regulatory research; drafting contracts and governance documents; negotiating and documenting transactions and dispute resolutions; interviewing and counseling clients; providing compliance advice; and gaining comfort with public speaking.
(DE) Prerequisite(s): 827.
(DE) Corequisite(s): 814 and 842.
