ENGL 496 - The Rhetoric of Legal Discourse3 Credit Hours Nature of legal language and written discourse types (opinions, memoranda, briefs). Introduction to legal research resources and techniques. Issue identification and argumentative techniques. Students will write position papers, memoranda, and briefs. No prior legal knowledge necessary.
