² Students must choose FREN 211 -FREN 212  or FREN 217 -FREN 218 , GERM 201 -GERM 202 , ITAL 211 -ITAL 212  (or equivalent intensive intermediate course) to fulfill this requirement unless they have previously completed the University’s General Education requirement in Cultures and Civilizations , in which case, they will choose GERM 101 -GERM 102 , FREN 111 -FREN 112 , ITAL 111 -ITAL 112  (or equivalent intensive elementary course) to fulfill the requirement. Students are required to complete one year (or equivalent intensive elementary course) of a second foreign language to be chosen from French, German, or Italian.
