Forest Management and Operations Certificate

The Forest Management and Operations Certificate is intended for working professionals and undergraduate students interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills into their current practice and skills. Students can complete the certificate in four semesters. The certificate is available to individuals who are enrolled solely in the certificate program or 2) a current student at an outside accredited 4-year post-secondary institution.

Admissions Standards/Procedures

Students seeking admission to the Undergraduate Certificate must meet the admissions standards established by the Undergraduate Council.

Required Courses

SNR 212 - Dendrology and Silvics of North American Trees 3 Credit Hours
SNR 312 - Principles of Silviculture 3 Credit Hours
FORS 329 - Forest Resource Inventory 3 Credit Hours
FORS 420 - Forest Resource Management 3 Credit Hours
Courses must be taken in the following order: SNR 212, SNR 312, FORS 329, FORS 420.
No grades below C are acceptable for students wishing to receive this certificate. In such cases, students must repeat courses and earn a grade of C or better prior to the awarding of the certificate from the University of Tennessee.
