International Security and Intelligence Studies Certificate

The Department of Political Science offers an International Security and Intelligence Studies Certificate. This program provides students with an understanding of the complex risks and dangers confronted by private and governmental organizations in our world today and how information and intelligence shape policymakers’ decisions and the policymaking process.

Undergraduate Certificate Type: Add-On, Stand-Alone
Credit Hours Required
The International Security and Intelligence Studies Certificate consists of 15 credit hours of coursework. Admission Standards/Procedures
Students seeking admission to the Undergraduate Certificate must meet the admissions standards established by the Undergraduate Council. Required Courses (6 credit hours)
Elective Courses (9 Credit Hours)
Select 1 Course from Track A, 1 Course from Track B, and 1 Course from Track C (9 credit hours)
Upon the department head or graduate director’s approval, a student may take two courses from a track to substitute for a course in a different track (e.g., one course from Track A, two courses from Track C). Track A: International Security and Political Violence
Track B: Bargaining and Information Security
Track C: Analytical Tools, Research Methods, and Data Visualization
Non-Course Requirements
Students must complete all courses from this list with a 2.5 GPA. Footnote
