|
|
The Africana Studies major offers an interdisciplinary exploration of Black life, culture, and thought across global contexts. Students begin with foundational courses in African and African American histories and cultures, then engage with contemporary issues through literature, health, environmental justice, and performance. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, research, and creative practice, culminating in advanced coursework and community engagement. This major prepares students for careers in education, public service, health, law, and the arts, while fostering a deep understanding of the global Black experience.Natalie Graham, Interim Department Head, Department of Africana Studies
