The Master of Science degree with a major in Business Analytics is designed as preparation for a career in the application of analytics and quantitative methods to complex problems in all areas of business. Business Analytics coursework will expose students to a broad range of decision analysis techniques and tools and facilitate the application of these methodologies to real-world business problems. The coursework will further integrate communication and teamwork skills with a knowledge base in business analytics.

Knoxville Campus Admissions Standards/Procedures
- Formal online application submitted to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
- Two applicant recommendation forms.
- GRE or GMAT official scores.
- Applications are encouraged from all majors, but a quantitative background and proficiency in a computer language is required.
Academic Standards
A grade of D or below in any core course is grounds for dismissal from the Master’s in Business Analytics Program. Business Analytics - Full-Time Concentration
The Business Analytics major, MS, Full-Time Concentration is designed for students with little to no work experience as preparation for a career in the application of analytics and quantitative methods to complex problems in all areas of business. The coursework is taught in person at the Knoxville campus. Business Analytics coursework will expose students to a broad range of decision analysis techniques and tools and will facilitate the application of these methodologies to real-world business problems. The coursework will further integrate communication and teamwork skills with a knowledge base in business analytics.

36 graduate credit hours. Required Courses (25.5 credit hours)

In lieu of Comprehensive Exams, students must complete and pass a 1-semester project (BZAN 550) as part of the degree requirement, as listed above. Business Analytics - Working Professionals Concentration
The Business Analytics major, MS, Working Professionals Concentration is provided for a regional audience of working professionals who have two or more years of work experience. The program is designed as preparation for a career enhancement or transition by providing a solid background in the application of analytics and quantitative methods to complex problems in all areas of business. This working professionals concentration can be completed in 16 months if the student pursues the degree with no interruptions. The coursework is completed though on-campus residence periods, off-campus site visits, and via synchronous and asynchronous distance learning. Business Analytics coursework will expose students to a broad range of decision analysis techniques and tools and will facilitate the application of these methodologies to real-world business problems. The coursework will further integrate communication and teamwork skills with a knowledge base in business analytics. Credit Hours Required
