Students seeking admission to the Undergraduate Certificate must meet the admissions standards established by the Undergraduate Council.

Academic Standards:

No grades below C are acceptable for students wishing to receive this certificate.

Prerequisites:

• MATH 141 - Calculus I 4 Credit Hours or *
• MATH 132 - Calculus 1B Infused with Precalculus 3 Credit Hours *

• MATH 142 - Calculus II 4 Credit Hours *
• MATH 241 - Calculus III 4 Credit Hours

Complete each of the following courses

• MATH 222 - Financial Mathematics 3 Credit Hours
• MATH 300 - Introduction to Abstract Mathematics 3 Credit Hours
• MATH 423 - Probability 3 Credit Hours

Compete one of the following courses

• MATH 322 - Actuarial Science Problems in Financial Math 1 Credit Hours
• MATH 422 - Actuarial Science Problems in Probability 1 Credit Hours

Non-Course Requirements:

Students may pursue this Undergraduate Certificate on a full-time or part-time basis. They must earn all hours of this program at the University of Tennessee.

At least 3 of the credit hours used to satisfy the requirements of this certificate must be unique with respect to their minor, major, or another certificate program.
