Dr. Francis Canedo, Director

University Honors is a scholarly community comprised of diverse, accomplished, and action-oriented high potential students from across UT’s eleven undergraduate colleges, as well as the dedicated Honors faculty and staff that challenge and support them. A combination of interdisciplinary breadth and innovative problem-based/leadership curriculum are designed to complement the depth of learning provided in students’ academic disciplines. University Honors creates and nurtures a community of students eager to learn, lead and make a positive difference on campus, in the state of Tennessee, and beyond.

Students in the University Honors enjoy various privileges designed to facilitate their growth, engagement and achievement. Honors students are granted priority registration, advanced library privileges, and specialized honors coaching to ensure access to the coursework and resources that an ambitious curriculum demands. University Honors students have access to exclusive study spaces, engagement opportunities, competitive honors grants, and residence in the University Honors Living and Learning Community.
