Progression Requirements
Progression to World Language Education specialization requires a 2.75 cumulative GPA after a minimum of 12 semester hours of coursework. Once candidates formally progress to the specialization, they must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 while in the program. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all teacher education courses. Students with less than a 2.75 GPA for two consecutive semesters will be dropped from the program. Students who fail to meet the standards for professional conduct during the course of their fieldwork will not be retained in the major.

uTrack Requirements
Universal Tracking (uTrack) is an academic monitoring system designed to help students stay on track for timely graduation. In order to remain on track, students must complete the minimum requirements for each tracking semester, known as milestones. Milestones include successful completion of specified courses and/or attainment of a minimum GPA. uTrack requirements only affect full-time, degree-seeking students.

- Students pursuing German take 18 hours in courses numbered 200 or above, with at least six hours from GERM 321 , GERM 322 *, GERM 324 *, GERM 325 *, and GERM 326 and at least six hours from GERM 411 , GERM 412 , GERM 419 , GERM 433 , GERM 455 , or GERM 485 . It is possible for students to complete a German Minor as a part of this program if intentional with course selection. See the specific requirements in the minor section of the catalog.
- Students pursuing French take an additional 12 hours from FREN 334 * (strongly encouraged), FREN 400 , FREN 410 , FREN 415 *, FREN 420 , FREN 421 , FREN 422 , FREN 425 , FREN 426 , FREN 431 *, FREN 432 , FREN 433 *, FREN 440 , FREN 450 , FREN 491 , FREN 492 , or FREN 493 . It is possible for students to complete a French and Francophone Studies Minor as a part of this program if intentional with course selection. - Students pursuing Classics (Latin) take 18 hours of the following courses: CLAS 251 , CLAS 252 *, CLAS 351 *, CLAS 352 *, CLAS 431 , CLAS 432 or CLAS 414 , and 3 hours of CLAS 493 . It is recommended/required that they fulfill the Written Communication (WC) and Engaged Inquiries (EI) Elective* requirement with CLAS 299 *, Global Citizenship - International (GCI) with CLAS 252 * or CLAS 351 * and the Arts and Humanities (AH) requirements with Classics courses. It is possible for students to complete a Latin Minor as a part of this program if intentional with course selection. See the specific requirements in the minor section of the catalog.
- Nine credit hours from two different subject areas from approved Engaged Inquiries (EI) courses. For example, SPAN 494S and SPAN 495S * if pursing Spanish. CLAS 299 *, CLAS 232 *, CLAS 442 *, CLAS 443 *, CLAS 444 *, CLAS 445 *, CLAS 462 *, or CLAS 465 * if pursing Latin.
- Recommended to take an Applied Oral Communication (AOC) course from target language when possible. For example, SPAN 423 if pursing Spanish; FREN 334 * if pursing French; CLAS 442 * or CLAS 465 * if pursing Latin.
