Progression Policies and Procedures

Students admitted into the College of Nursing are eligible to continue into upper- division nursing courses if they meet the following criteria:

  • complete all required courses in the freshman and sophomore curriculum by July 15th, prior to fall of junior year.
  • earn a minimum of 3.20 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of all required lower-division coursework, including NURS 201  and NURS 319 . (Excess elective credit will not be counted toward this GPA requirement.)
  • earn a minimum grade of “C” or better in all courses.
  • Submit an Intent to Progress form by the noted deadline in sophomore year.

Failure to fulfill these requirements and deadlines will make a student ineligible to progress to upper-division course work, and the student will be released from the College of Nursing.
