The biological sciences major offers concentrations in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology; ecology and evolutionary biology; microbiology; and plant biology. To declare biology as a major, CHEM 120-CHEM 130 and BIOL 111-BIOL 112 or BIOL 130 must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
Any upper-division BCMB (except BCMB 306; BCMB 401 required for cell and molecular emphasis), BIOL, EEB (except EEB 309), MICR courses. Appropriate upper division courses from the College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources can be substituted with permission.
Requirements for an honors option are:
a GPA of 3.5 in all 300-level and above concentration courses
an overall GPA of 3.25
a minimum of 4 hours of EEB 400 or BCMB 452 (undergraduate research) during the junior and senior year
