Admissions Standards/Procedures

Students must state their intention to pursue the graduate minor in art history before the end of their first year of graduate study. Consent of the student’s area instructors and the art history faculty is required.

Credit Hours Required

12 graduate credit hours

Required Courses

• Students must complete a minimum of 12 graduate credit hours in Art History (ARTH), the specific components of which will be agreed upon by the art history faculty after review of the student’s previous undergraduate and graduate course work.
• No more than 3 graduate credit hours of independent study may be applied to the minor.

Non-Course Requirements

• Graduate Council policy stipulates that a member from the minor unit must serve on the guidance committee.
