The Rehabilitation Counseling for the Deaf Graduate Certificate is a distance education program available to students whose career interests relate to working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Courses specific to the Rehabilitation Counseling for the Deaf Graduate Certificate are taught via distance education and integrate American Sign Language (ASL) as the primary means of delivery of lecture material. Admissions Standards/Procedures
- Must demonstrate at least an intermediate level of skill with the Sign Language Proficiency Inventory (SLPI) prior to admission.
- Applicants must submit a certificate application through the Graduate Admissions Office.

Non-Course Requirements
To receive the certificate, students must:
1) complete the Graduate Certificate Course Verification Form (located on the Graduate School webpage under the Forms Central tab) and
2) through MyUTK, apply to graduate from the certificate program.
