Interior Architecture Major, BS in Interior Architecture – Master of Architecture Preparatory Track

Qualified students in the interior architecture program may consider a course of study that will give them advanced placement in the Master of Architecture degree program. Completing this path allows Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture graduates to gain advanced standing in the graduate architecture program, satisfying degree requirements in two years rather than three. This path only applies to the degree program offered at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. For more information, see the Graduate Catalog.
Requirements for undergraduate interior architecture students pursuing this degree path:
- The student must meet with directors from both the interior architecture and the graduate architecture programs during their third year, or earlier.
- The student must have an earned minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- The student must complete the following requirements before entering the Master of Architecture program with advanced placement. This includes summer courses.
- ARCH 212 * or ARCH 218 *
- ARCH 213 *
- ARCH 542 - Design III: Campus and Urban Architecture
- ARCH 547 - Structural Principles in Architecture
- ARCH 548 - Materials and Methods in Architecture
The student must also follow the normal procedure and deadline for admission to the Graduate School and to the Master of Architecture program in the College of Architecture and Design.
