The College of Engineering offers a graduate certificate in reliability and maintainability engineering. The program is designed primarily for part-time students in that all of the courses are available through distance education.
The 12-hour certificate is earned by completing CBE 483 , IE 483 , ME 483 , or NE 483 and CBE 484 , IE 484 , MSE 484 , ME 484 , or NE 484 , plus two elective courses selected from a list of courses provided by the participating departments – Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering; Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Industrial and Systems Engineering; Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering; and Nuclear Engineering.
Currently, the available elective courses are CBE 585 / NE 585 , ECE 504 , IE 516 , IE 517 , IE 522 , ME 534 , MSE 421 , NE 441 , NE 575 , NE 579 , NE 585 , and STAT 567 .
The selection of elective courses is determined through an advising conference with each individual student, and is based on the student’s personal interests, academic background, and work experience. Applicants must meet the minimum criteria established by the Graduate Council.
