PLSC 433 - Fruit Physiology and Production3 Credit Hours Fundamental principles of the biology and culture of small fruits and tree fruits, including morphology, physiology, distribution, utilization, propagation, production systems, harvesting, storage, and processing. Emphasis on physiological principles and production practices for small fruit crops (e.g., strawberry, blueberry) and tree fruit crops (e.g., apple, peach) grown in open-field and controlled environment (CEA) systems. Topics include growth and developmental physiology, dormancy, flowering and fruit set, fruit quality, canopy and crop load management, and postharvest physiology.
