INMT 242* - Business Applications and AI Literacy2 Credit Hours This course introduces students to widely used business software applications and integrates AI as a core business tool, emphasizing how to communicate and collaborate effectively with AI systems. Students learn how and when to apply both traditional software features and AI-enabled capabilities to solve business problems, with focused instruction on prompt engineering, critical evaluation of AI-generated output, and responsible use of AI assistance. Through hands-on activities, students develop practical software fluency, analytical thinking, and digital problem-solving skills aligned with the expectations of today’s AI-enabled workplace.
Satisfies Volunteer Core Requirement: (EI) Registration Restriction(s): Majors in the Haslam College of Business or the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics in the Herbert College of Agriculture only.
