NE 406 - Radiation Shielding3 Credit Hours Types of radiation sources, fundamentals of gamma ray and neutron attenuation, biological effects, dosimetry, approximate methods of shield design, and use of modern analysis tools, including discrete ordinates and Monte Carlo. The course includes applications to both nuclear fission and fusion.
