IE 531 - Systems Thinking and Modeling3 Credit Hours Introduces students to a systems thinking approach to problem-solving. It provides students with the key concepts of systems thinking and theory. The students learn the importance of the identification of the elements of a system, their interconnectivity, stocks, feedback and balancing loops. Students also learn to model through an introduction to systems dynamics using causal loop diagrams, stock and flow diagrams, and simulation. Concepts studied include systems environment, boundaries, and the emergence of their hierarchical structure.
