STAT 537 - Statistics for Research I

3 Credit Hours
Principles and application of statistical methodology, data collection and organization for descriptive, predictive, and causal research.  Probability and probability distributions, point and interval estimation, forming and testing hypotheses using parametric and nonparametric inference methods. Introduction to designed experiments, regression, and correlation. Use of statistical software required.
Recommended Background: 1 year of undergraduate mathematics and 1 undergraduate statistics course.
Registration Restriction(s): Minimum student level – graduate.
