PLSC 423 - Genome Engineering and Gene Editing of Plant Cells3 Credit Hours Cutting-edge synthetic biology tools and techniques for genetic engineering of plant cells, including plastids (a group of endosymbiotic organelles specific to plant cells). Particular emphasis on novel CRISPR/Cas tools for gene editing of plant cells and applications for improving crop traits.
Credit Restriction: Students may not receive credit for both PLSC 423 and PLSC 523 (RE) Prerequisite(s): BIOL 113 or BIOL 114 or any BIOL sequence with lab or consent of instructor.
