EEB 320 - Pollinator Ecology3 Credit Hours This course addresses the evolutionary and ecological aspects of interactions between plants and pollinators, with a focus on pollinating insects and community ecology. We will discuss primary scientific literature, learn about experimental design and methods in pollination ecology, and explore careers in ecology and plant-pollinator interactions. This course will include a primer in insect taxonomy, anatomy, and physiology, but we will spend more time on ecological concepts as they apply to the field. We will also spend time outdoors in the field learning methods in pollinator ecology, including observing plant-pollinator interactions, ground-nesting bees, and floral morphology.
