EEPS 310 - Mineralogy4 Credit Hours Introduction to the concepts of crystal chemistry, optical mineralogy, and geochemical analysis of the important rock-forming minerals. Laboratory includes hand-specimen, microscopic, and X-ray diffraction identification of minerals, and electron microprobe and energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis.
Satisfies Volunteer Core Requirement: (EI) Contact Hour Distribution: 3 hours lecture and 2 hours lab (RE) Corequisite(s): CHEM 122 *-CHEM 123 *. Recommended Background: Two 100-level geology courses.
