ANTH 413 - Dynamics of Health and Illness

3 Credit Hours
Socio-cultural dimensions of health, illness, health care systems, and the body. Includes examination of global epidemics and health issues related to disasters. Overview of methods and theories in medical anthropology. With a writing focus, this course requires a student to complete at least 2,000 words of writing during the semester. This normally consists of at least one sustained formal essay or report of 1,000 or more words, plus additional writing assignments such as in-class essay exams, journals, book reviews, short-response papers, and the like.Socio-cultural dimensions of health, illness, health care systems, and the body.
