ARTH 441 - Northern European Painting, 1350-16003 Credit Hours Overview of art and material culture in the regions encompassed by present day France, Germany, and the Netherlands in the 14th through 16th centuries. Content includes new artistic genres and media such as oil painting and printmaking; the location and circulation of art (markets, sacred spaces, regionalism and internationalism, exchange with Italy); uses and conflicts over religious imagery, and the impact of the Protestant Reformation.
