IE 405 - Engineering Economic Analysis

3 Credit Hours
Introduction to engineering economy and its application in engineering practice. Time-value of money and discounted cash flow techniques. Decisions among engineering alternatives involving design options, equipment selection, break-even points, and similar situations. Cost estimating and consideration of taxes and inflation. Analyzing uncertainty in economic estimates using nonprobabilistic techniques. Introduction to techonomics including transaction cost analysis, concept of techonomic metrics, key trends driving exponential change in the economy and organizations.

Registration Restriction(s): Restricted to majors in the College of Engineering.
