GEOL 310 - Mineralogy4 Credit Hours Introduction to the concepts of crystal chemistry, x-ray diffraction, optical mineralogy, and geochemical analysis of the important rock-forming minerals. Laboratory includes hand-specimen, x-ray diffraction, and microscopic identification of minerals.
Satisfies Volunteer Core Requirement: (EI) Contact Hour Distribution: 3 hours lecture and one 2-hour lab. (RE) Corequisite(s): CHEM 122 *-CHEM 123 *. Recommended Background: Two 100-level geology courses.
