ALEC 211 - Foundations of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications

3 Credit Hours
Explores the development of life science and agricultural knowledge and the competing schools of thought on how to develop an educational system in a democratic society. Early debates centered on agriculture as a science, an art, or simply a mass of empiricism. Major thinkers of agriculture and education believed in the power of educating the masses and the social power of knowledge. Current and historical models of agricultural leadership, education, and communications will be interpreted through cultural and historically significant works, figures, and schools of thought.
