ANTH 470 - Anthropology and the Genome3 Credit Hours How do studies of DNA and genomes impact our understanding of what it means to be human? What have ancient DNA studies recently revealed abut past and present human relations? This course covers the intersection between genomic science and anthropology. Learn basic population genetics and the molecular (lab) techniques, and discuss relevant themes, such as species and interpopulation relationships, migration and dispersals, personalized genomic testing, gene editing, epigenetics, identity, and ethics.
(RE) Prerequisite(s): ANTH 110 * or ANTH 117 *, and BIOL 101 * and BIOL 102 * or BIOL 113 *, BIOL 114 * and BIOL 115 * or BIOL 150 * or equivalent. Recommended Background: BIOL 240 or equivalent.
