STAT 563 - Probability and Mathematical Statistics

3 Credit Hours
Introduction to probability and probabilistic reasoning, Bayes theorem, discrete and continuous random variables and their probability distributions, functions and transformations of random variables, distributions of random vectors, the multivariate normal distribution, order statistics, expectations and moments of random variables, sampling distributions of key statistics, introduction to the likelihood function and maximum likelihood estimation, and introduction to prior and posterior distributions.
