ARCH 271 - Architectural Design I: Place6 Credit Hours Contextual determinants in architectural design. Role of the city in architectural design. Methods of analyzing place and form in determining design strategies. Introduction to spatial implications of structure and sustainable urbanism. Representational skills developed including drawing, diagramming, and modeling techniques.
(RE) Prerequisite(s): 172 with a grade of C or better. (RE) Corequisite(s): 221, 261, and 262. Registration Restriction(s): A minimum of 2.5 GPA in all design courses is required.
