LAW 963 - Health Care Law and Regulation3 Credit Hours Surveys legal issues confronting the American health care system, considering federal and state law. Topics include quality control; licensing and accreditation; access to health care, including private health insurance, managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, and emergency health care; privacy regulations; relationships between health care entities and physicians; fraud and abuse regulations; antitrust considerations; and research restrictions. Satisfies expository writing requirement if student elects to write a paper. Registration Restriction(s): Law students only.
