COUN 220 - Helping Skills in Face to Face and Online Settings3 Credit Hours Explores effective helping skills and how they are changing with new technologies. Covers basic attending skills, reflective listening, mediation skills, and other communication strategies, in both face-to-face and online (e.g. e-mail, social media) contexts. Students will learn to communicate more effectively and understand how communication differs when mediated by technology.
