To qualify for a BA in Art, students must meet any progression requirements. Contact specific program area faculty for review of schedules and details. It should not be assumed that a high grade point average in the major itself assures fulfilling progression requirements.
Transfer students are advised that a minimum of 20 hours in studio courses must be earned at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Students should be cautioned that art courses taken at another institution may not apply toward their major. ARTA 212 and ARTA 214 must be taken at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, if they are taken as prerequisites for upper-division courses in Drawing and Painting, respectively.
No grade below C (2.0) in art courses may be applied to the Bachelor of Arts major. A minimum of 42 credit hours, 300-level or above, must be earned prior to graduation.
