The Master of Science degree with a major in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is designed as preparation for a career in the application of analytics and AI methods to complex problems in all areas of business.
The program exposes students to a broad range of decision analysis and AI techniques, applying these methods to solve complex, real-world business problems. The coursework integrates technical knowledge with professional communication and teamwork skills valued by employers.

Knoxville Campus Admissions Standards/Procedures
- Formal online application submitted to the Haslam College of Business
- Two applicant recommendation forms.
- A quantitative assessment, such as the GRE, GMAT, or similar, is strongly encouraged.
- A formal interview is required.
- While applications are encouraged from all majors, a strong quantitative background and knowledge of statistical programming are beneficial for excelling in this program.
Academic Standards
A grade of D or below in any core course is grounds for dismissal from the Master’s in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Program. Credit Hours Required
36 graduate credit hours. Required Courses (25.5 credit hours)
Core Requirements Supplementary Courses (10.5 credit hours)
Must be selected in consultation with and approved by the student’s advisor. Non-Course Requirements
In lieu of Comprehensive Exams, students must complete and pass a 1-semester project (BZAN 550) as part of the degree requirement, as listed above. |
