Innovative Transdisciplinary Studies Major, BS in Innovative Transdisciplinary Studies - Applied Computing Concentration


The BS in Innovative Transdisciplinary Studies degree program is a 121-credit, 4-year B.S. program that provides customizable transdisciplinary options including stackable certificates, concentrations and minors. The core courses in this program orient students with concepts of transdisciplinary studies, including synthesizing relevant content from across disciplines, research methods, and problem-solving for transdisciplinary projects. The Applied Computing concentration is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in key computing concepts, preparing them for careers in a variety of industries.

uTrack Requirements


Universal Tracking (uTrack) is an academic monitoring system designed to help students stay on track for timely graduation. In order to remain on track, students must complete the minimum requirements for each tracking semester, known as milestones. Milestones include successful completion of specified courses and/or attainment of a minimum GPA. uTrack requirements only affect full-time, degree-seeking students.

  1. All students must complete the following ITS core courses:  CECS 101* , ITS 102 , ITS 201 , ITS 202 , ITS 301 , ITS 302 , CECS 399 , ITS 401 , and CECS 499 .
  2. COAD 130*  / COAD 430*  are recommended, but students may select any EI course to satisfy this requirement.
  3. Concentration requirement. See Applied Computing Concentration Requirements below for additional information.
  4. Students who complete AC 202  in Term 7 must complete AC 302  in Term 8.

  5. Students who complete AC 211  in Term 7 must complete AC 311  in Term 8.

  6. Students enrolled in the BSITS - Applied Computing Concentration cannot use the required concentration courses to satisfy the certificate course requirement and are not eligible to earn an Applied Computing certificate as part of the BSITS-Applied Computing Concentration degree program.
