Students must complete a total of 34 credit hours, at least 20 of which must be at the 300-level or above. No more than 6 hours from courses offered outside the psychology department may be counted toward the major. No more than 6 hours from PSYC 373 , PSYC 382 , PSYC 399 , PSYC 491 may be used in this major.

Major Requirements
The Health Services Psychology Concentration consists of 34 credit hours. Core Courses
Consistent with guidelines from the American Psychological Association, the concentration requires exposure to the broad foundations of behavior, along with an emphasis on applied coursework and an understanding of individual differences.

2. Developmental Aspects of Behavior
3. Cognitive Aspects of Behavior
4. Biological Aspects of Behavior
5. Social Aspects of Behavior
6. Connections to Mental Health and Applications

To support the department’s assessment efforts, students are required to complete two 0-credit courses, typically near the beginning and at the end of the student’s degree program. Footnotes
* Meets Volunteer Core Requirements Connections requirement - The Connections requirement may be satisfied in one of four ways: (1) by completing 9 hours from one of the approved Connections packages, (2) by completing the requirements for a second major or minor, (3) by completing 9 hours of study abroad coursework, or (4) by completing all Air Force or Army ROTC program requirements. All students must complete at least 42 upper-division (300-400 level) hours in order to receive a degree from the College of Arts & Sciences.
