As an established element of the social sciences, computational social science comprises interdisciplinary skills for visualization and predictive modeling using social science data. This IDP major brings together approaches from different disciplines, including geography, sociology, psychology and neuroscience, public policy, information science, economics, and anthropology. Examples of applications range from mapping and revealing sociodemographic factors across society, analysis of population-scale public health factors, exploration of innovation in science and public opinion, or topic analysis in communication and social media. Using accessible coding langauges, the tools in the elective courses range from mapping and visualization to established statistics and regression analyses to machine learning.

This concentration consists of 33 credit hours. I. Compulsory (15 Credit Hours, 5 Courses)
