Nuclear Power Engineering Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Undergraduate Degrees, Majors, Concentrations, Minors, and Certificates

In nuclear power facilities, nuclear engineers make up only 15% of the engineering workforce; the remaining are largely mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical, and industrial and systems engineers, and cybersecurity specialists. The minor in Nuclear Power Engineering prepares students pursuing majors in other engineering disciplines for a career in the nuclear power industry.

The grade in each of the courses used to fulfill minor requirements must be at least a C. Students should consult with their advisor for the appropriate elective courses in their major. Some of the courses used for the nuclear power engineering minor may also satisfy requirements in the student’s major. The minor consists of at least 15 credit hours.
