As an established element of the social sciences, computational social science comprises interdisciplinary skills for visualization and predictive modeling using social science data. This minor brings together approaches from different disciplines, including social sciences, geography, public policy, and information science. Examples of applications range from mapping and revealing sociodemographic factors across society, analysis of population-scale public health factors, exploration of innovation in science and public opinion, or topic analysis in communication and social media.
