Wildlife and Fisheries Science Major, BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Science - Fisheries Management Concentration

Fisheries management is the science and art of maintaining populations of fish at levels consistent with the best interests of wild species and of the public. Management goals may be aesthetic, economic, or ecological. Success depends upon fisheries biologists providing assistance; scholarly application of scientific information and methods to these goals; ecological perspective; and execution of programs to maintain past successes, to prevent repetition of past failures, and to prepare for future needs.

To remain in the Fisheries Science Management concentration, students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA; 2.5 major GPA, starting in Term 4; and earn no less than a B grade in FWF 250* and no less than a C grade in FWF 212. If a student does not meet the aforementioned criteria, the student will be removed from the Wildlfie and Fisheries Science major, and the student must meet with their advisor to identify an alternative major. Courses to be counted towards the major GPA are all 300-level and above courses in WFS, FOR, and FWF.
