Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications Major, MS

A candidate for the master’s degree who elects the thesis option must successfully complete the following requirements.

A minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate credit in courses approved by the student’s advisory committee.
- Six credit hours of thesis may be counted toward this requirement.
- A minimum of 20 credit hours of graduate credit in courses numbered at or above the 500 level.
- A minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate credit in courses appropriate to the area of concentration taught in the department.
- A minimum of 3 credit hours of graduate credit in course work in either research methodology or statistics.
A final oral examination.

A candidate for the master’s degree who elects the non-thesis option must successfully complete the following requirements.

A minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate credit in courses approved by the student’s advisory committee.
- A minimum of 24 credit hours of graduate credit in courses numbered at or above the 500 level.
- A minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate credit in courses appropriate to the area of concentration taught in the department.
- A minimum of 3 credit hours of graduate credit in course work in either research methodology or statistics.
- A creative component designed by the student and approved by the student’s advisory committee for 3 credit hours of graduate credit.
A written and oral comprehensive examination.

Candidates seeking the Master of Science degree online option must successfully complete:

A total of 30 credit hours of graduate credit in courses approved by the student’s graduate committee.
- 21 credit hours of graduate credit courses in ALEC
- 9 credit hours of graduate electives
A final written examination with a grade of Pass is required.
