Nursing Education Graduate Certificate

The College of Nursing offers certificates for nurses who need additional training. A master’s degree in nursing is required for admission. This post-MSN certificate prepares nurses for a career as nurse educators in both academic and nursing service settings. Nursing education practice involves the management of resources, interdisciplinary collaboration, and application of technology, information systems, knowledge, and critical thinking.
The total credit hours will vary depending on the student’s academic record, clinical experience, and objectives. Students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours. Contact the Assistant Dean, Graduate Studies for more information.
Requirements
The post-master’s certificate in Nursing Education consists of 12 credit hours – 6 credit hours in nursing and 6 in education. Required courses in the College of Nursing are NURS 566 and NURS 565 . In consultation with the Nursing Education Minor Coordinator, students select 6 credit hours of course work from the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.
