Major Requirements

The concentration in Greek consists of 30 hours.

Select 18 hours:

Select 12 hours:

any 200-level or above Classics courses (see note below)
HIME 382 - Archaeology of the Biblical World
HIME 400 - History and Archaeology of Mesopotamia
PHIL 320 - Ancient Western Philosophy *
Note: CLAS 201 * and CLAS 273 may not be used for the major.

Honors Concentration – Greek

The Honors Greek concentration consists of 30 hours. The student must maintain a minimum B+ average in Greek language courses and a minimum cumulative B+ average at UT. In addition, of the 9 non-language hours described below, 6 must be in courses numbered 300 or higher. In total, the student must take a minimum of 15 hours of Honors courses, not all of which need to be in the major subject area. The student will present an Honors thesis (CLAS 498 ) which must receive a grade of B+ or higher to permit graduation with Honors.
