Biological Sciences Major, BS – Plant Biology Concentration

The biological sciences major offers concentrations in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology; ecology and evolutionary biology; microbiology; and plant biology. To declare biology as a major, CHEM 120 -CHEM 130 and BIOL 111 -BIOL 112 or BIOL 130 must be completed with a minimum grade of C.

Biological Sciences Major — Prerequisites to all Concentrations
Plant Biology Concentration
The plant biology concentration consists of 29-34 hours. III. Select 9 hours:
any upper-division BCMB (except BCMB 306 ), BIOL, EEB (except EEB 304 , EEB 309 ), MICR courses Honors Option
Requirements for an honors option are:
- a GPA of 3.5 in all 300-level and above concentration courses
- an overall GPA of 3.2
- a minimum of 4 hours of EEB 400 (undergraduate research) during the junior and senior year
- a senior thesis that is acceptable to the student’s committee.
