3 Credit Hours
Rise of sport in U.S. in educational settings and evolution to economic enterprise. Puritan era and impact on early growth of sport. Mid-19th to mid-20th-century. Development of structure, influential personalities, and sport governance during formative periods. Role of women and minorities.
Registration Restriction(s): Must be majors within the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies or permission of the Instructor.
